Globalization today offers exciting and challenging opportunities to Malaysian business to meet global demand for products and services. On the other hand, globalization also creates competition for new markets. Thus, it is an immense merit in showcasing Malaysian products and services when viewed from Malaysian Brand perspective since it specially targets to motivate and generate better trade between Malaysia and other nations.
Branding is an important aspect of improving the competitiveness of products and services. It has been my desire and belief to see Malaysian brands achieve distinction on a global level. However, there is so much more tapped potential among so many more local brands. We must find more ways to overcome this situation if we want to succeed regionally and internationally. That is why I am glad that there is a growing awareness and appreciation about the importance of branding.
I would like to congratulate Axos (M) Sdn Bhd for the initiative in publishing this inaugural Malaysia Brands Directory 2007-2008. I see this publication as an opportunity to promote and showcase the success stories of our Malaysian brands to the world.
